CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

Terms of Use

Effective: August 19, 2026

ComfortScout is a connection service.

We help you prepare an HVAC project brief and may connect you with one independent provider. We do not sell, inspect, recommend, finance, or install HVAC equipment.

1. Using the service

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your province or territory and provide accurate information about a home you own, rent with authority, or are buying. Do not submit someone else’s contact information without their permission or use the service for unlawful, misleading, automated, or abusive purposes.

2. Provider matching

Submitting the form does not guarantee provider availability, a response time, a quote, financing, equipment availability, rebate eligibility, savings, or project acceptance. We may be unable to find a suitable provider in your area.

Providers are independent businesses, not employees or agents of ComfortScout. You are responsible for evaluating a provider, checking licences and insurance where relevant, reviewing contracts, and deciding whether to proceed.

3. Estimates, rebates, and information

Website content is general information, not engineering, financial, legal, tax, or energy-advisory advice. Program rules, eligibility, equipment requirements, prices, savings, and incentives can change. Confirm all material details with the provider and the official program administrator before making a decision.

4. Communications

If you select the consent checkbox, ComfortScout and one selected provider may contact you about the specific request using the channels you authorized. You can withdraw consent for future contact as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information submitted through the service.

6. Website availability and acceptable use

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. You may not interfere with the service, probe its security, scrape it at scale, submit malware, impersonate another person, or attempt to access non-public systems or lead records.

7. Intellectual property

The ComfortScout name, logo, website design, copy, and software are owned by or licensed to ComfortScout and protected by applicable law. You may use the website for your personal homeowner request but may not reproduce or commercially exploit it without permission.

8. Disclaimers and responsibility

The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. ComfortScout is not responsible for a provider’s advice, acts, omissions, quote, contract, workmanship, products, warranties, financing, or program submissions. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer protection law.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of British Columbia and Canada, subject to mandatory consumer-protection and jurisdictional rights that apply where you live.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and effective date. For questions, email hello@comfortscout.ca.
